18 months ago my son grabbed my Z6 and half stroked it, I think. Ever since then the film advance is hard as heck. I just set it down and haven't really looked at it since, but I'd like to get it back running. It feels like something is off the tracks. The shutter recocks, the film advance works. The rewind release also trips the shutter. With the back open, I see why, I just don't remember this from before.
Any suggestions? I would have thought a Zorki6 would be able to handle a 2 year old.

Sounds like the gears are out of adjustment. Cleaning and adjusting them will work wonders. Somewhere on this sub-forum there's instructions on how to strip the Z-6, do a search (it never got stickied, unfortunately). You don't need to go further than removing the top and getting at the gears.
