Can a Zuiko 42/1.7 from Oly SP be addapted to M or LTM mount?

I ask cause I broke my SP a few years back but salvaged the lens for a camera project. But before I do it I was thinking Hmmm.

I really like the lens and given some of the outrageous prices I've seen on ebay (I paid $25 for mine in perfect condition) was just wondering, is it feasible.

Would the shutter mechanism have to be removed? Or could it be dissabled?
Would it be too costly? Most probably.

Any thoughts on the matter.

I'm sure it can be done, but you might not want to pay the price, e.g.,

w/regards to Contax G lenses. I know I've seen conversions done from point & shoot lenses & other fixed-lens RFs, so something like the SP's 40/1.7 should be in the realm of possibility.

Olympus SP's come up now and then. Probably, simpler, easier and cheaper to just buy another. There is a specialist on the net...believe Zuiko.com probably a good place to start your inquiry.

Making it fit, with scale focussing, would be relatively easy - making it focus with the RF would require a fair amount of engineering skill (not to mention machinery) and painstaking measurements.

If you can (or can afford someone else to do the hard work), why not ? :)
