Rollei LTM Rollei 40mm f2.8 HFT Sonnar

Rollei M39 screw mount lenses
Some shots with two Rollei Sonnar 40mm/2.8 lenses: one is a LTM version and the other a Rollei 35S version. 🙂
All shot at wide open f/2.8 with Rollei Retro 100 film, which was developed in Agfa Rodinal.

Not much difference between these two above, or maybe a slightly different bokeh?

Of the first pair, the LTM to have more contrast ... shadows have lower values. Another way of putting it, the 35S shot has longer tonal scale in the low values. Other than that, they are remarkably similar. The bokeh differences are slight and could be the result of other factors.

Of the last two, the 35S seems to be a slightly heavier exposure and appears lighter in the print, but that could be scanning/post-processing.

A superb lens, that's for sure.

Maybe I should have shot with slide film. 🙂 Some of the differences are indeed result of my scanning, although I tried to keep the settings in Vuescan software and Nikon Coolscan the same. I didn't make any post-processing in Gimp, except dust spot removing with clone tool. Both films were developed at the same time. Bokeh differences can also be the result of slight cloud movement and little light strength variation.

One currently in ebax has 9250797. Jari, your black lens is 9260014? I like the black, but after my experiences with some black and chrome Cosina/ Voigtländer lenses I favorize chrome.

My chrome is S/N 9251325, body was R000779
