More Close Up Candid Street Photography

Got 4 new photos in the Close Up Candid Street Photography gallery.

Mostly taken with the M7 ZM35. One is from the catastrophic Delta 100 roll (M3 summicron 50).

I'm always amazed and jealous, you have confidence shooting on the street that I just don't have yet. I keep trying and figure one day it will sync into place but I just don't feel comfortable being that in your face with a camera.

Confidence isn't the right word.

There's nothing to it (as I mentioned in the very first thread on this) - people just don't notice / don't care.

You just need to be quick, but unhurried. Hence, AE and lot's of depth of field. And cropping 🙂

You know when you're walking around and your eyes just fix on various things for a fraction of a second? (no, not *only* girls) If you don't stop and stare, nothing happens. But if you stare at someone for a second or two, their brain notices and they look at you.

You just do the same with a camera. Has to be a Leica, of course. Won't work with anything else 😀

It helps if the place is slightly crowded, but that's not necessary.

thanks for the advice, I've been enjoying the city and trying my hand at it more and more.
As I get more comfortable I'm sure it will get easier.

I think part of it might be that we're in the USA- land of litigation. I know around here many people are pretty p.o.'ed when they even think you've got them in a shot, or catch you shooting their house.

I've only gotten in "trouble" for shooting once, at a mall. But i've gotten more then my share of dirty looks and being as fragile as I am it gets discouraging. I try to just smile nod and shrug it off most of the time.
