Finally I bought Nikon SP2005!! (thanks Jon~!)
but comparing to my old S2, I can feel some difference feelings from my SP.

The most unfamiliar thing is shutter release button. is SP2005's shutter button deeper than S2?

Next, when I push a shutter button, I can feel its more rough than S2's feeling.
Just Before shutter is released, button is slightly hang back. feel like D70, D80's half shutter.

I know SP's shutter is different to S2's shutter mechanism, is this matter came from that reason? or just common feeling of brand new body?

Congrats on the SP 2K5! I will look at my S3 2000 later today and let you know. I would expect the S2 to have had 1, 000s of releases through her and be a bit more worn in (smoother).

Park, I just compared my S2 and S3 2002 (I have film in the SP :D ).

The shutter button on the S2 sits about 1mm higher than the shutter button on the S3 2002.

Also, the shutter button on the S3 2002 has that half shutter feeling like a D70, and the spring tension is very light until the shutter button is pressed down about 1mm or so.

Both those things combined mean that the S3 2002 shutter button needs to be pressed 1-2mm further into the body to fire the shutter than the S2. It's a noticeable difference.

The S3 2002 and S2 shutter button actions on my cameras feel smooth to me. There's no noticeable difference in that regard. Maybe you have a super smooth S2 :)

Hope that helps!

My S3 2K has a smooth release. I shoot with an AR-1 all the theim so I am not sure I would notice height.I sold my S2 to fund the S3 so I have nothing to compare it against with respect to height.
