Hi i am thinking of using a 52mm-46mm step ring and a ebay vented slanted or straight lens hood as the Lh3 hood is quite expensive can you forsee any problems with this combo on my 50 1.5.Thanks for any input in advance.

no problem, just be sure that the large diameter lens hood does not cover part of the rf (patch) window, like if you use this combo on ltm Leicas save the IIIg.
