it's just hide and seek
Hello,
is it possible to scan negatives with the Canon CanoScan Lide 35 flatbed scanner? If it is possible, please tell me how.
I'm a total newbie using negatives.

That scanner does not have the lid-mounted light needed to scan transparent stuff like negs and slides. Maybe you could make your own, but I think you would need to come up with some way to shut off the lamp in the scanner, too...

Allright,thanks. I thought so already.
So best would be to get either a new scanner with the transparency light unit or to abstrain from scanned contact sheets. but I think the first one will be it.
Can you recommend a Canon flatbed scanner that has the same/better qualities as the CanoScan Lide 35 but has the facility to scan negatives?
Any help is appreciated.
