Hi
I once had a Hexar AF with a sticky shutter button which I returned to the seller. Now I have another one which I find to be (somewhat) "scratchy", but I can't exactly remember the focusing sound of the first one... So I recorded a MP3 file with the camera focusing from 0.6m (close focus) to infinity and back (four times):
Hexar focusing sound
A question to the Hexar AF owners out there: Does this sound right to you?
Thanks & best regards

Shaken, so blurred
Its a bit difficult to make out properley in my work environment, but it doesn't sound too far off if recorded close to the camera in regular rather than silent mode.
I'll check again when I'm at home (and can use my Hexar to refresh my memory).

Hi, I didn't use my Hexar since 2003. I took it out, put in a brand new 2cr5, listen to it and your recorded sound a few times.R2-D2 said:Hi

The noise seemed simular, only mine sounded 'faster', maybe because it's a brand new battery, a Made in Japan Kodak Max I bought in Taipei in 03(exp.2013).
Hope this help.

I might be hearing what you hear. There are some higher-pitched tones I don't hear with my Hexar. The decibel level seems about the same. But ,without a broad sampling, for all we know your camera is making normal noises and mine is the one that's off.
