I want to run some lens cleaning solution and a lens cloth (the thin paper type) over my elmar 5cm f3.5. Will this scratch it? If yes, is there a better way to clean the front of the lens?
Thanks,
Eric

I do have a shade, but it becomes a bit tricky in keeping the finger off of the lens when the aperature movement is right above it.
Thanks!

Well it did the trick, there weren't any fingerprints on the lens, just a little bit of grime from shooting with it so much lately.

Next time, don't forget Opticlean from Calliope.
Uncoated lenses are tougher than most coatings, in any case.

Anyone have a source for Opticlean in the US? I've not been able to find it anywhere. When a lens really gets grimy it seems like the simplest solution.

Is opticlean anything like Canon's lens solution? I've got a bottle of that.
