I thinking about getting an M4 but there's something about the plastic frame line selector and timer levers being plastic which stricks a discordant note.

Can a good shop replace them with the M3's metal ones?

Has anyone done this?

These levers can be easily changed out. The problem may be in finding the all metal levers though..

I purchased the camera with the levers replaced but I know it has been done by Youxin Ye. I am totally in love with my M4! :)

Thanks! The M4 is a beautiful camera as it is but I must say it's really a beauty with those M3 levers. You should ask Youxin Ye is he has the parts in stock.

Hi,
Be careful when changing the DA lever as it left hand thread. Always fully 'charge' this lever and then release the holding screw. Otherwise its a doddle.

I'll most likely let DAG or Sherry K. do the changing. I have ten thumbs... :D

Uh, it's a "doddle?" Interesting expression, never heard it before. What does it mean? Sounds British. (Or Australian?)
