Is there any ringflash out there that will fit the M series?
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

There are none that support M-TTL, so you are dependant on ringflashes that have an auto mode. Sunpak and Star supply those. The adapter rings supplied will probably not fit the smaller Leica M filter sizes, so you will have to buy extra step-up rings. Heavystar (e-bay) has a large range of those.

You are asking about ringflash for macro work, correct?

Using an M8 for macro is relatively unproblematic:daveco said:You are asking about ringflash for macro work, correct?

Any studio ringflash (profoto - hensel - balcar) will work with the M size-wise. Just the usual caveats of using an M with a studio flash apply (sync speed, etc.)
I guess it depends on what you're using it for...

I haven't mounted the M8 to my ABR800, but I imagine I would be limited to a 50mm lens and telephoto's. I don't know about the other studio rf's.

Hmm - on second thought, at least a few of the studio rings would make it very hard to focus. Blocking windows entirely...
Maybe that's a job best left to another rig.

It wouldn't if one is using the Visoflex anyway.rogue_designer said:Hmm - on second thought, at least a few of the studio rings would make it very hard to focus. Blocking windows entirely...
