Leitz 5cm finder SOOBI question

I have a Leitz 5cm finder that has the bright lines cocked. Has anyone taken one apart to adjust the lens that has the bright lines to get them level. Usually there is a retaining ring but I can't seem to see one. Thanks.

Bob

I've got black felt on the back of mine to protect my glasses, but it would appear that the back flange might unscrew. Have you looked at that possibility?

Hi Bob,
There's a small screw in the bottom, and if you loosen it you can rotate it until it's correct.
Cheers,
Mike

I think Leica's designation is SBOOI not that it really matters. Stu

Yup, 100% correct Stu. Sometimes I type too fast and don't check.

Thanks for the info, I didn't want to do anything until I had some idea from somebody that has done it.

Jim

I think you are right also about the back unscrewing so that will come in handy should it need an internal clean.

Mike gave you the right way.
A very small screw is underneath. If unscrewed, you may pull the optical part to the back and then turn it until it's right level, push it inside again and screw tight again.

I did put the optical part away (which is inside a second metal cylinder) to have the SBOOI body chromed.

In addition to the SBOOI correction, I'd like to suggest that "cocked" should have been "cock-eyed". A lovely finder.
