I took a chance and bought 50 rolls of expired Portra 800 (expired 2002), shot 5 rolls, and decided I didn't care for the film. The film is pretty grainy and sorta washed out. Shooting it at around 400 helps. The files can be usable with some editing, but it can be a little hit or miss. Here are a few examples shot with a Canon 35 2.8 LTM lens.
This is scanned straight without any editing
And with some quick edits, I can get it to look like this:
Another straight scan without editing - this one looks much better, I'm not sure why, but its off of the same roll.
And it cleans up very well with editing
Anyway, I was going to toss the rest of the film, but then thought that maybe somebody here might want it, so here you go...
45 rolls of expired Portra 800 for free to anybody who wants it, you just cover the shipping costs. I'd rather avoid the hassle of shipping 5 rolls here and 10 rolls there, so the first person who wants all 45 rolls gets it
