Can the shutter release travel be adjusted. I have one that releases at the very bottom of the release button travel. It seems that it takes extra force to release the shutter. I have the lens plate off and have replaced the POD but can't seem to see any adjustment for the shutter release linkage. Thank you.

Frank: check the Yashica Guy website. This site is plenty of info on how to save any Electro 35. Or ask (here in RFF) Greyhoundman (Dave) who´s been repairing lots of YE35 and can bring you advise and help.
There are some adjustments inside which if altered or modified can bring much more troubles than you have now.
Besides, mine fires the shutter after a long travel of about 5 mm.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Shutter adjustment
If you take top cover off. (Yashica Guy tells you how) You will see the top of the linkage, a brass splined sleeve with a threaded bar running through it. The top of the bar has a screwdriver slot in it, this is your adjustment, if it fires there wont be much adjustment, as you need the full travel of the release for the over/under lights to come on. You need to strike a balance between the shutter releasing, and the lights functioning.
I had a similar problem with a GTN i bought on the bay. (Boxed, as new. Fantastic camera if anyone is interested?) With non operational shutter. The release was just not travelling far enough. I took apart a wreck i had to see what the problem was, the threaded bar was screwed nearly all the way down and the shutter fired perfectly. So i tried it on the good one and it seemed to work.
I should have a disclaimer here i think!
See how you get on.

Thanks all for the input. I did manage to make some slight adjustment in the shaft travel and, still have the over/under indicators work properly. Much better now. Thanks again......

I got one from ebay that works just fine. It wasn't a "special" one for the Yashica, I just screwed it on and it worked. I picked up 3 or 4 from Fedka, but haven't tried them on the Yashica. I don't understand why it would not work.

Thanks appreciate the info.

I have seen this "softee" a few years ago, and since I had no idea whatsoever how to get one in Croatia, I made it myself. And since I made it for Zorki, I used a piece of my wife's "faberge-swarowsky-babuscka" fake jewelry.
It works just as fine on 35GSN. Can't see why it wouldn't, since the bottom part is a universal cable release screw.
