Shutter adjustment
Shutter adjustment
If you take top cover off. (Yashica Guy tells you how) You will see the top of the linkage, a brass splined sleeve with a threaded bar running through it. The top of the bar has a screwdriver slot in it, this is your adjustment, if it fires there wont be much adjustment, as you need the full travel of the release for the over/under lights to come on. You need to strike a balance between the shutter releasing, and the lights functioning.
I had a similar problem with a GTN i bought on the bay. (Boxed, as new. Fantastic camera if anyone is interested?) With non operational shutter. The release was just not travelling far enough. I took apart a wreck i had to see what the problem was, the threaded bar was screwed nearly all the way down and the shutter fired perfectly. So i tried it on the good one and it seemed to work.
I should have a disclaimer here i think!
See how you get on.
If you keep your mouth closed and your bowels open you wont go far wrong in this wicked world we live!
