I just bought my girl a Canon G9.. I used it in manual mode to shoot Joe Cocker at Saturday's concert in the Kremlin.. a great little camera.
Back home, my recently purchased 75/1.4 has just arrived.. can't wait to get my hands on it.
Both experiences are / are gonna be great.
People should just buy and use what they want or can afford and stop worrying about what they can't.
It's all envy or what the Russians call ponti - show off and BS.
And such comments are very, very boring.
Good luck to all 75mm owners of whatever brand or f/stop .

One just sold of KEH in Ex condition for 2300. That's as cheap as I've seen it in a while.

what an awesome piece of glass.
What do you mean awesome, an internet poster said it was junk. I'm confused.
I dig the second one, thanks for sharing!

Awesome focusing on the left upper incisor, second shot. The sharpness falls away from it beautifully. A 75 lux at its very best!

I decided to go with the 75mm f2.5 Summarit. The depth of field is too narrow for my eyes, even at f2.5, and now I usually shoot at f4 in a theater. So why pay for the faster f stops I'll never use? The Summarit is great, and much cheaper than either the f1.4 ASPH or the f2 APO.

Tuolumne: do you have any theater shots with the Summarit, or other shots with the Summarit for that matter? I'd be keen to see them

These were all taken with the 75mm Summarit on an Epson R-D1s @ ISO 1600:

my vote would be for the summilux 75 for your particular application. there is so much about this lens to learn and appreciate. also, pls take a look at the summilux 75 thread started by NB23 - lots of good examples of what people have captured with this lens.
good luck!
