I'm wondering if there's such a thing as a Leica Thread Mount to Nikon S mount adapter out there? It would save me lots of money

6x9 and be there!
There have been quite a lot of adapters allowing to mount Contax or Nikon lenses on Leica cameras (but not the reverse). They are rare items and command high prices. Here's a link to the Cameraquest page about these classic adapters: http://www.cameraquest.com/adapter.htm
There are also new China made adapters that appear regularly on eBay and sell for $200-250 but I don't know what they are worth.
Cheers!

The other way round is impossible (LTM lenses on S mount bodies), because the lens register for LTM is a lot smaller than for S mount, meaning the LTM lenses would not only not focus to infinity, but not even anywhere near it.

Thanks for the info.
Also, S lenses twist in the opposite direction when focusing. Or does that not make a difference?

It doesn't. If you mount an S lens on the adapter, it will focus just like on a Nikon S body.

I once made a jury rigged adapter for an old Nikon S. Using a collapsible 50 Elmar and a ground glass on the back, I managed to get it to focus really close by simply pushing and pulling on the lens (it was a collapsible Elmar). Infinity is still a no go - but it worked at close range! Not worth the effort though.
On the other hand, Jonmanjiro gave me a SP helicoil when we met in Tokyo and I am staring at it and trying to figure out what to mount on it - or what to mount it on! Hm. maybe a dedicated M2 in Nikon mount for the 35f1.8?

I thought if there was an adapter out there I could use my CS 21, CS 35, Summar & Nikkor 135 on my S2. Oh well ...
