I'm thinking about having strap lugs added to my Leica II, since it's going in for an extensive overhaul anyway.
Is this something I should be talked out of?

I wouldn't talk you out if it, but you could always put a strap lug in the tripod socket. I've been thinking of doing that with the Standard I have. I'm guessing your II was originally a Standard.
