Thanks for posting this. It's too bad there are no photos of the inside or of that "zipper" the text talks about. Looks like the hardware may be plastic too, rather than metal like on the old dommkes. But you can't really tell from the photo.

It is missing the primary advantage for me of a useful Domke bag. That is the ability to make a one handed reach into the bag, without looking, and retrieve anything in there.
This looks like one of those bags that you need both hands and at least one eye to unpack and repack to get something off the bottom layer.
The name may be "Domke" but I don't think this is the kind of bag Jim Domke had in mind years ago.

Looks like an ideal travel/walk around bag. I think I may buy it. I was looking at the F-5XB, but I was worried that it was a bit too small... not much room for extra stuff (like a small jacket), plus I think the smaller size was more of a give away as a camera bag. This looks more like it could be a general purpose shoulder bag.
I guess one could admit that it's not a true reporter's bag in the spirit of the original domke bags, but the last thing I want to look like is a reporter with a bag full of expensive goodies.

Looks nice but, imho, too deep for any RF gear. Probably good for the SLR gear though. I'd grab one but I'm already at my "bag limit" 😀
The f-803 is the right depth but needs an overhaul to make it "customizable" enough to me 🙂

Well, I just bought for my M6 kit. I don't have a dslr. I don't think the depth will be a problem for me, since the dividers can be positioned to make two distinct compartments. Camera on top for quick access, less used extras on the bottom.

Yeah, definitely too deep. I still think that the F-5xb is a little deep for RF gear, unless you stow your camera body vertically. With an M6, storing vertically seems to result in pressure on the shutter release, which drains the batteries unless you park the shutter on off or leave it uncocked. The ideal M bag would allow the camera to sit upright, but with the back of the camera body against your body instead of perpendicular to it, thus keeping the profile slim.
I ought to just design my own bag . . . .

Definitely looks too big for a rangefinder kit. Looks very square in shape. Might be more suited to carrying my old LPs around.

I can't get my head around that bottom compartment ... getting something out of it is not exactly a seamless operation. I guess for a DSLR and extra lenses it would be OK but I don't see it being a lot of use for rangefinder gear.
I could see it being handy for carrying a lesser used rig like an MF camera in the bottom. I quite often take my Bronica with me along with a 35mm rangefinder and lenses and it always has to have it's own bag. I could keep the Bronica with the 100mm and 65mm lenses separate in the bottom and the 35mm gear in the top.
That's starting to get up in the weight department though and these Domkes don't have a lot of rigidity I've noticed!

The bag is about the same size as my Gravis Sidearm Messenger Bag, to which I've added removeable Domke-style padded compartment with a draw string. What I like about the Gravis "man purse" is that it has lots of inner pockets.
It is about the largest size camera bag that I care to carry. in fact, most of the time I my a smaller Army surplus medicine bag. Still, thanks for the heads-up. I may go for one to compliment the Gravis and put my Sanfrotto up for sale.

Whoah, I didn't see that bottom compartment until I clicked on Kuvvy's link. The side pouches look useless as well.
