Very nice colours and 'light'. The feeling of the light is surprisingly similar to Toronto.

i think the originals must look better. there always seems something lost in translation to digital.

Interesting model
Interesting model
Quite a rare camera model you have, the Populaire from 1959, I like it. I can't comment the resolution of the pics because things are lost when it's made digital, but I guess you used the 50mm f/1.4 or the 50mm f/2.8 lens and the Canon lenses used to have perfect resolution. Among the pics you have taken I liked Hauptbahnhof_8.

@VictorM.
Thank you, I never was in Toronto, but autumn seems to be a nice season in every town with many green.
@Erik L
I got the developed Film with 9 x 13 cm Pics for a first look before scanning it and at the pics the colours were stronger and darker, but in the reality it looked like I presented at flickr and I had not much to do in PS CS3 for it. My scanner is a Minolta DSE 5400, as you can look on every single film grain.
@Rogier
It was a Fujicolor C200 and I tried it the first time. My drugstore has no ISO 100 Films, but from the C200 you get 5 rolls at 36 pics for 5,- EUR! I think, it´s o. k. for the price.
@darkrum
I´m surprised. I thought they call the Canon P "Populaire" on the basic high volumes.
The lenses I use are 35/1.8 (1958), 50/1.8 (1961) and 100/2.0 (1959).

Canonist,
I like the results.You have done very well here. The composition is excellent in many of the posted photos at flickr.
The Canon P is not rare at all. It is a great camera though. I have two Canon P cameras. The P is a very reliable camera that is more practical for use than a Leica M.
I see that you like classical cars too.

Canonist -- I commented on your shots over at flickr. You've got some very good photos in that collection, and I'm impressed by the shots taken with the 35/1.8 in particular.

Thank you for your kind replys. Yes, I like classical cars and also classical motorcycles, but I drive no one, because they often make more problems all days, then classical cameras.
The P is in deed a very reliable camera. My own one is on my motorcycle often shaken quite hard, without any problems till today.
I buyed an old rangefinder-camera, because I was missing the "rangefinder-feeling" of my old Leica M6 and because digital b&w is not realy b&w.
I think if I stay here for a longer time, my dreadfully English will get so much better, that my old teacher would be surprised, if he could see this here!

"Flim? You want flim?"
Canonist, your English is a lot better than my German! You're doing fine. I was glad you joined my group at Flickr for Canon Rangefinder Lenses and enjoy looking at your work there. Very nice photos. And as for the Canon P, it's one of the prettiest cameras around, as well as being easy to use and tough as nails. Keep the photos coming.

Very nice job. I enjoyed browsing through your photostream. That 35mm 1.8 is impressive.
The 50/1.8 photos were also very interesting; I recently started shooting with that same lens myself.

We're all light!
Lovely color, and sense of atmosphere. I'm almost certain that what I see here would be surpassed in print. Well done.

Thanks to all. At the weekend, I will see your pictures, but it is difficult to assess what I see, because I do not do in my mother language.
There also is something off topic. On the financial crisis we all can not really laugh, but I want to tell you a little story about it.
Today I had a funny experience in my bank. My banker needed a signature from me and I rode with my motorcycle there. A colleague of him asked me, to whom I want. I sayed it to him and he disappeared. When my banker came to me, he told me, what his colleague had said to him:
"Out there is a tall man with dark sunglasses and in black leather. I hope that not someone has sent him to you, to break your bones."
