Thanks guys!
No.4 is my personal fave.
These shots are taken in Singapore
The Kodak Gold 400 performs admirably in ambient lighting i must say, much better than i expected.

Just tried it with some Portra 400VC.
Seems like a harder film to use at night compared to Kodak Gold 400.
quite a few shots were under, but the shots that came out right look better than the Gold 400.

Amazing pics! I use the Nokton 40/1.4 on my Minolta CLE, the perfect low-light combo.

wow man, i'm loving the look. i would have thought 400 would be noisier than this but i suspect it's because of the small pictures... Have you had any experience with fuji nph?
if so i would love to hear how it goes.

Thanks for the comments guys..
I've tried fuji nph, but only in the day. The colors are perhaps alittle too neutral for my liking, but it does have wonderful detail.
Hm. I wonder how it will work at night!

These were my 1st scans also of the same combo. Actually my 1st use of a personal scanner the V500 epson. Film used is HP5 no PP except minor level adjustments at photoshop.

I forgot how good the Nokton 40 can be. Thanks for the reminder.

Yes it's really a great lens and I'm learning to love 40 mm FOV. I am a 28/50 guy with the slr.

I just re-aquired a new R3A and a used LN but cheap (hooray!) 40/1.4 ... I just have to remember to keep point light sources and other confusing issues out of the background and it will deliver excellent results
Look! No double lines!

Yes I was there last August. That's where I bought the R3a and 40 1.4. Nice airport and quite a walk it's big. I was assigned there in 2007 and that's where I got to learn the good camera stores around Bkk.

If it's cool I want to also show my first couple rolls... the BW is HP5 and Colour is nph.
I use a Bessa T with an MC nokton 40. I am still in need of a viewfinder but it's hard to find it in Brussels:bang: so i used a cut out from a tea box. it was either genius or completely retarded (i think the latter). For me the nph is indeed a bit too bland for me... i agree with you Merelyok...

A tea box!? Now that's dedication! The Nph always turns out too bland for me when used in outdoor settings, but it has a nice tone when used in ambient light (to me at least.)
That Ilford scan looks really good.
I've just tried some Agfa Vista 400 and i've very, very impressed.
Here are some samples.
