Hmm, no. Was the invitation from Leica directly or from your dealer? I received mail from Leica last week about the reception for the new exhibit at the gallery.

From Leica -- I'm guessing it went out to registered M8 owners in NYC.

I just dug the invite out of the trash, and it seems like a book release party. I can see that Dr. Kaufmann will be there.

I RSVP'd today and went. It was like being in a parallel Universe full of very strange very rich society people (not my usual crowd).
The nicest guy I met was a Romanian named Adrian who discussed the merits of the book with me, and I did meet Dr. Kaufman who handed me the S2 to try! Damn its sweet. Handles like a dSLR, doesn't weigh nearly as much as I thought and has a HUGE BRIGHT VF.
The art book was very colorful and done by a self-described "The Real Prince" who took a lot of pictures of himself reflected in shop windows with a D-Lux-2 in auto mode.
My 2nd Appletini really helped me to just relax and take in the kind of surreal (for me) scene.
