I am anticipating purchasing a Leica 90mm F4 "M" mount from Sherry Krauter. Anyone out there done business with her? How did it go?

I haven't done business directly, but I own a camera, M5, and a lens, 90mm Elmarit, that Sherry worked on right before I bought them. First class work from what I can tell. I wouldn't hesitate to use Sherry.

Haven't bought from her, but I have had Sherry do repair work on a camera and a couple of lenses. She did a first-rate job, and did it quickly too. I'd not hesitate to do business with her again --- she's very good.

Sherry does top notch work. I had an M2 cla'd by her. The vf was quite dim and it came back like new. The vf is bright & crisp. I dropped a 50mm Summi and jammed it so it would not focus. I sent it to Sherry and it came back better than ever...butter smooth focus.

Best regards,

Bob

This past year, she has overhauled my V1 90mm F2 Summicron, and my black 200mm F4 Telyt. Both are now in close-to-new condition. Pretty quick turnaround, too.

Have used her services for over 20 years. She has done CLA and finder upgrade on my M6 bodies, an M4P, CL, and a few lenses. Always top-notch work, always a fast turn around. She is great to talk to on the phone. Also, she serves as a consultant to auction houses for auctions of rare Leica items. But what she likes more than anything is to work on Leica equipment that is actually going to be USED. She will not do esoteric and weird modifications if, in her opinion, it's not worth your money or her time. She is a character, and has earned her reputation as a legend in her own time. Of course, some here think she is "a legend in her own mind". But I adore her and find her work to be absolutely excellent.
