I'm a pauper trying to go wide on a IIIf. Jupiter 12 seems good but I don't want to buy from Eastern Europe and ebay and no paypal and all that. Also I'd like 28mm or wider. Seems like the cheapest way to go 28mm LTM is a CV, about $330, right?
Has anyone used an adapter and a cheap 28mm, like say a Vivitar 28mm/2.8 in m42 pentax screw mount? Or a Tamron 28mm with T mount adapter? These are dirt cheap both for the lens and the adapter. I know you get no rangefinder coupling but scale focusing seems fine with a lens this wide anyway. Would you get infinity focusing?
Furthermore it looks like you can get a cheap 24mm or 20mm lens in Pentax screw mount and go even wider, and worry even less about focusing.
I looked at the Canon Converter B adapter (FD to M39) but it looks like those are much more expensive than the m42 type.
or am I crazy?
