tips on replacing camera leather ?

any body have any tips on replacing camera leather . i just removed the covering from my m2 and bought a new one from camera leather

Follow the directions from Camera Leather. That's all you need to do. It's easy. You'll love it! I couldn't believe how simple it was.

I replaced my M2 leather with the Grip Tac from Camera leather. I followed the direction on his web site.

I really like that material on the M2, really easy and a nice result.

thanks for the replies . i read the directions for the "wet" application and i think that's the route i will go . just wondering if there was any after thought people wish they had done once the job was complete .

also it's a tough choice to pick which covering to buy i ended up buying the seal grain course black i must have spent a good hour looking at all the different variations of black . i will post a pick of the completed job

When I put the paint varnish on it didn't work as quickly as it did in the pictures on the website. It took me a good while to get that old vulcanite off. Like the others I put griptac on my M2, such a great upgrade.

Just go to a hardware store and get a can of denatured alcohol. That should dissolve the glue residue, and it is cheap.

I don't see any mention of uncut sheets being offered for sale on

You can buy their leatherette in sheets, but they don't sell leather that way. Go to ebay. This guy sells kidskin and goat leather (same stuff cameraleather sells, but without the stickum) for a lot less: http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Fashion-Leather-com__W0QQ_armrsZ1 Don't get the lambskin (too soft and spongy) and make sure whatever you get is less than .5mm thick. The thickness is described in each ad.
