thought i read the dr summicron 50 does not work on
all m7's.

All I can tell you is that it worked on both of mine.

M7 and M6 TTL have top plates that are a little higher than other models. You may need to remove the little black plastic stud that is meant to stabilize the goggle finder accessory by resting on the top front corner of the camera. It unscrews, as I recall. Without the goggles fitted, there is no issue at all.

I had a .72 M7 for a while, and the DR worked on it very well, after removing that same bumper/screw described by Rob-F above.

Surely yes. Mine is fixed on my MP, but work fine also on my M7, actually married with Summicron 35/2 eight elements. Both are fantastic lenses.

I've read that the Summicron DR doesn't work on the Bessa R2 series. Does that only mean the lens with the goggles? I assume that it mounts without the goggles?
