Hi every one, I have an m7 which does not release the shutter, I bought a new batteries for it, but there where old as I believe, because the meter is working but the shutter is not. Could be the batteries that are not strong enough to release the shutter, or there should be some other problem with the shutter? The camera is the Titanium M7, a brand new one.

is the camera on aperture priority?
do you have the lens cap on?
if you answered yes to both, it means that camera is working fine. it is just taking long long pictures since it is dark.
if not, then i have no idea. test out some manual settings or take out the battery and see if it fires at 125 or 60 and such.

I had the same problem, just send it off to Leica. Also FYI, it has been confirmed to me by a number of sources that soft and min soft releases do not work well with M7's and the make them noisier.

I forgot to tell you that the shutter loader (the arm) does not move. Just like when there is no batteries.

m7 can still work without batteries for 125 or 60 shutter speed so i would assume that it is jammed or broken. guess you should send to leica or return it

This may fit into the the "did you check to see if it was plugged in" catagory, but did you check to see if the shutter was cocked? If you're used to using cameras with autowinders or built in film advance, its not to hard to forget to wind the film on to the next frame.
