Andy, it took my friend Florence Tiger a couple of days and several phone calls to get me halfway comfortable using my scanner and posting the pix on my blog. She's been promising to teach me how to post here. I'm not joking either! I have epilepsy, and either due to brain damage caused by the seizures, or due to the fact that the anti-seizure meds make me moderately stoned all the time, I have a devil of a time learning new procedures. My long term memory is fine. Just don't ask me what I ate for breakfast. Most days I couldn't tell you IF I ate breakfast.

My parents have a shoebox containing old family photos. Some are over 70 years old.

Sometime just after the First World War (1919 I think). The old couple in the middle are my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother. Also included: my grandmother, grandfather, father, 1 uncle, 1 aunt, 2 great uncles, 1 great aunt and a few that come under the heading "ain't got a clue".

me and my mother (holding the baby), and two of my brothers in Deadwood, SD circa 1955; the other woman in the photo was our "hired girl" (aka nanny and housekeeper in modern terms)

summer 1971; my three boys... the youngest (aged two) would NOT keep his closthes on; I've altered it for web viewing given the number of voyeurs on the web; made by me

Thanks. I find family photos pretty fascinating. At the risk of sounding a bit snarky, it's refreshing to see photos of things rather than photos demonstrating lens, film or sensor characteristics. I mean, those are fun too, but not nearly as interesting.

I'm currently trawling through seven of my father's slide carousels from 1976-1990 or so.

Last summer my mom passed away. While preparing for her funeral I went through boxes of old photos of her. This one is when she was in the second or third grade. We always thought she looked like "Scout" from To Kill a Mockingbird in this photograph.

This is quite possibly the first, and most probably the best, photograph I have taken so far.

HIs name was "Scamp". The snap was taken around 1962 or 3 with an Agfa or Ilford something or other.
