Canon LTM Rumor: Digital Canon GIII Evil system ?

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
I fail to see what's so evil about an unconfirmed rumour.

Yet another useless message brought exclusively to you by the owners of Leica/Nikon/Canon/SonyAlpha/Panasonic/Olympus/Samsung/Yashica/Lomo-rumors.com?

I fail to see what's so evil about an unconfirmed rumour.

I fail to see why you shouldn't have noticed the acronym Electronic Viewfinder Interchangeable Lens camera

Dunno if there's any truth in it, but it can only be a matter of time before Canon and Nikon jump on the 'Evil' bandwagon.

By definition, "rumor" is
  • A piece of unverified information of uncertain origin usually spread by word of mouth.
  • Unverified information received from another; hearsay.
Hence information cannot be "confirmed" and a "rumor" simultaneously.

Anyway, as the title says, this is a rumor.

Confirmed rumor=true lie.

I really dislike these things; they don't give ideas to the manufacturers and only stir the hope pot.

What'll be next? A consumer's Leica?

Consumer Leica=contradiction in terms.

If you're talking about the Minilux with zoom... allow me to crack a subtle smile... ;)

Of course, have a nice day!

But what's a rumour without a hastily PSed picture?

I give you the Canon QD. Technical details, TBA...

A GIII like version of the EP-1 GF-1 type system would be cool. We'll see. We're also waiting for the Samsung NX series to appear.

Indeed, I heard about this rumour about six months ago when the G11 was being rumoured. I hear about it from the Canon technical guy, and again from one of the management staff of Glazers in Seattle.
I heard that it was 4/3 interchangeable lens system..

For the sake of the somewhat acronym-challenged, two words: all caps. (EVIL)

Please. :)

Or, if it really is an acronym, all caps with periods. (E.V.I.L.).

There are also other variations of these letters that also spell pronouncable words: L.I.V.E., V.E.I.L., V.I.L.E.

And this word: E.L.V.I., which is defined as a convention of Elvis impersonators. ;)

Canonet QL17 G-III vs. GF1

Canonet QL17 G-III vs. GF1

I love the QL17 G-III, and about a year ago got a GF1. LAst week I finally realized that when held side by side, they are virtually indistinguishable; they both have a 40mm (equivalent on the GF1) f/1.7 lens, the size and weight are basically identical as well. I just wanted to see if anyone else had noticed this, or if someone has one and is thinking of acquiring the other...it might be helpful.

Still, the QL17 works without batteries if need be...not so much with the GF1. I took both of them with me to my most recent trip to London last month, and I have to say that shooting street photography is nice with the GF1 since the AF is so fast. In the end, though, I took far more shots with the QL17.
