I lightened it in photoshop, but the image is just too low res to read the writing on the front of the lens.

from the size of it I would think it is 1.2. but 1.4 is possible to. I dont think there is 1.0 for FD mount.

The lens shown looks like the F1.2 lens, just because the "2" on the namering is skinnier than a "4".

It's a 1.4, it turns out. So sez the seller. I had already bid on it. :-( But no problem, I had been looking for a Canon body to use with another lens...and the 1.4, I'd imagine, is no slouch.

Well, that was my second guess...

And the Canon 50/1.4 SSC is really good. I sold my 58/1.2 in favor of the 50/1.4 SSC.

Excellent. Well, I won it, and I had been planning to get a 50/1.4 for my Pentax, and the price was about the same. So there you go, I'll just have this instead.

The 50 1.4 is a good lens. Light for a 1.4.

The 50 1.4 FD should be a good lens. I use more often the 50 1.2 L FD.

I have the FL 55 1.2, but it is very heavy. Lovely lens, though.
