The evils of a softrelease

Dear Stewart,

Well, his belief concerning what's beautiful doesn't coincide with mine, or presumably with yours, but it's still a good maxim.

Cheers,

R.

yep, Port makes me too incisive sorry, the proverb is OK but Arts and Craft put UK design back two generations, and he was the prime suspect

PS the port's nice however 🙂

I got a soft release for Christmas this year, and I'm a convert now. I don't know about gaining an extra stop or two (haven't shot anything yet), but it shifts the position of my right hand slightly upwards, which makes it a lot easier to cock the advance lever. Who knew a couple cm would make such a difference?

You should have got a Mr B. soft release from Tom A. At least when you fell the camera would of landed on it's feet cause everyone knows cats have 9 lives!😀

These might help:
http://yaktrax.com/

Last winter a fall cost me the price of having my Bessa R2A's rf adjusted. The one time I stepped on to the frozen lake I work at with out the Yaktrax on my boots, I ended flat on my back. The camera bounced off my chest and left a lovely bruise and had to have the rf alignment fixed.
Not a mistake I'll make again.
Rob
PS: next time ask the cute Brazilian to change the film for you, phantomas!😀
