The evils of a softrelease

Slippery slope that, but I think a softrelease on an F3 is totally useless. It's got a beautiful balanced release button by birth...

Being addicted to the AR-1, I have to admit the AR-9 does help make me feel at home. But I do agree, she is pretty go without one.

well I think the body-release on the f3 is rubbish, the MD is OK, but even I accessorise the other one (blue-tack and a shirt button, what can I say I'm cheap)

Dear Stewart,

Well, his belief concerning what's beautiful doesn't coincide with mine, or presumably with yours, but it's still a good maxim.

Cheers,

R.

yep, Port makes me too incisive sorry, the proverb is OK but Arts and Craft put UK design back two generations, and he was the prime suspect

PS the port's nice however :)

The gorgeous Mr. B. release now sits on one of my Oly 35SPs. I don't give it a second thought. And I helped save some cats at the Vancouver SPCA.

I got a soft release for Christmas this year, and I'm a convert now. I don't know about gaining an extra stop or two (haven't shot anything yet), but it shifts the position of my right hand slightly upwards, which makes it a lot easier to cock the advance lever. Who knew a couple cm would make such a difference?

Phantomas, I'll take the soft release and the Brasilian friend off you, now you can go shoot a Fuji 690. Only seems fair, right?:p

Now here's an offer in line with the spirit of the season! He would not have had the problem with a 690, nothing to rewind and all.

You should have got a Mr B. soft release from Tom A. At least when you fell the camera would of landed on it's feet cause everyone knows cats have 9 lives!:D

This is the kind of thread that gets started...and never ends during the winter when we can't go out and shoot.

These might help:
http://yaktrax.com/

Last winter a fall cost me the price of having my Bessa R2A's rf adjusted. The one time I stepped on to the frozen lake I work at with out the Yaktrax on my boots, I ended flat on my back. The camera bounced off my chest and left a lovely bruise and had to have the rf alignment fixed.
Not a mistake I'll make again.
Rob
PS: next time ask the cute Brazilian to change the film for you, phantomas!:D
