M42 on MFT = adapter?

Hello to all of you on this great forum. First post here.

Have several m42 lenses collecting dust on the old shelf. Would love to play with them on my brand new PEN.

So what I would like to ask you is: Where do I find a good adapter, If you have tried this combo, would you like to share some of your shoots, exif etc...

I think that M42 is easy to make and I think you can buy whichever. This is not C-mount, where almost lens is different. M42 is M42 ;)
Some pictures? I've used one M42 lens - 55/1.4 on Panasonic G1. All pictures at F1.4:

Up to a point, that's certainly true.. There are however two flavours; manual and auto aperture.

With manual aperture, the aperture ring directly controls the aperture. With auto, there's a push-pin at the back of the mount, that closes the aperture down to the preset value. Most of the auto aperture lenses also sport a A/M slider that allows manual use too, but it doesn't hurt to check that this is indeed the case for any auto aperture M42 lens that you're contemplating buying.

I have not thought about it. My lens support A or M mode.
 
Thanks for sharing Isorgb. The light on the first pic. is lovely...

So, how do you focus? Is there any way to get magnification working when using M42-adaptors?

magnification working with all lenses/adapters. You will have to push 2 buttons (left and OK).

G1 - It is in the manual under manual focus

on the four button dial to the right of the LCD screen
press the left button
then press the centre button
then magnify, (if you need more magnification), using the "wheel" at the front
and focus using the focus ring on the lens

unfortunately there is no "focus confirm" on the camera

hope this helps
 
On the GF1 --> if you are in "No Lens on Camera mode" --> this is mode for using the adapter.

On the four-way controller, the left button will activate manual focus mode. It will bring up a yellow target on the display. Use the controller to move the yellow box to where you want to use 10X magnification if you are on a tripod, otherwise move the camera and hit the center button to bring up 10x mag.

So without a tripod, 2 button presses and you are there.

Thanks to both of you. The camera in question is EP-1. As always the solution is right under your nose: all I had to do was to change the info/viewfinder - very similar i guess... And now I also have a manual ;-)
