Just a quick note- you can safely collapse the 50mm summicron on an E-P1- as far as I'm aware the mount area is part of the m4/3 standard so it should be fine on the panasonic cameras too. The rear of the lens (when collapsed) is still 3-4mm shy of the rear of the adapter so there's plenty of room I think.
that's sounds good - I picked up a 50mm f3.5 from 1933 last year and would love to see how it performs on a G1 that I have just bought
I am not expecting great things, but maybe something special which I may prefer to the technically sharp digital images
I got a 14 45 Lumix lens with the G1 about a week ago, I am just a keen enthusiast,, i.e. in no way an expert, but I seem to be using, (and preferring), my old Nikkor MF glass - using a 35mm f2 Nikkor O.C most of the time, to the Panasonic lens.
If truth has it, the main reason I bought the G1 was that I wanted to use my Nikkor MF glass on a digital "rangefinder" sized body.
Now deciding on another couple of adapters as i have some LTM lenses plus M42 pentax.
Quite exciting really - this M4/3 concept, that is allowing lots of experimentation with older glass., but for me, I do not think it will replace my Nikon D300 - but the M4/3 concept is a great "complimentary" channel to what we all now have - so much choice these days
Thanks again
