Someone who should know about those cameras, given that he is a seller, told me that the FED-2 is better built. I have one and can confirm that the eyesight adjustment works well.

I just read your Fed 2 post. Is it modern conveniences you're looking for? If so...save your pennies and buy a Bessa.
Otherwise, have fun with the 6. The zorki 4k I had's diopter was marginal.
OT: There used to be a guy with several Feds/Zorkis he repainted and refurbished including a sweet 6. But his page is down - did he move it or was it archived?

I bought a 6 frm eBay for the lens attached (J3). I agree that a bessa is a better choice. Even the original Bessa R. The diopiter adjustment works but does not compensate for how small and lowsy the VF is to begin with. I gave the camera and an industar f3.5/50mm to a friend who uses it when he wants to look cool. And he does
D.O'K.
Darren O'Keeffe.
The eyesight adjuster on mine works well (although I'm shortsighted: don't know how it would be for farsightedness).
The 6 is probably my Zorki of choice--it's slightly more refined and easier to use than the 1's and 4K I've got (no experience with any other FSU): but to me is let down by its small, dim, pink-tinted viewfinder.
Well worth a try if cheap, though.
Regards,
D.

The range is somewhere around +/-2 diopters which is enough for most people. It's certainly enough for me, though I'm presbyopic (i.e. suffering from old age!)... with a jupiter 8, I think. does the diopter usually work well? i am a tad farsighted in my storng (right) eye.

Have your eyes refurbished, Wolves. I had that done and have been a happy old coot. It don't help with blood pressure and aching joints, though.

well, i do like the looks of the fed 2. it's not a matter of cheapness so much as i like the industrial look of the things. sure, a bessa would be great, too.

I just bought a Zorki 6 as my back-up LTM to my Leica IIIf. Will see how it goes, and post my thoughts here soon.
It was recommended because of the bright VF and ergonomic style. I will just have to wait and see.

If only that were possible! My near-point used to be around 10cm, now it's ten times that. My distance vision remains as good as ever. Very frustrating at times, glasses for close-up but not for further away.Have your eyes refurbished, Wolves. I had that done and have been a happy old coot. Wolves, I mean cataract surgery. My implanted lenses are just right.
paulfish4570, if you are serious about using the camera and don't want to just play with it for a week, you might spend a bit more and get it from www.fedka.com.

As wolves said up there, mine is also very bright and contrasty. It took me by surprise actually.

Zorki 6 has a rather bright rangefinder in my opinion. I am +2,5 and the diopter correction works fine for me - and there is still more to be had, so maybe it is more like 3,5?
Very nice camera to work with btw.
Happy shooting!
