Tried searching eBay completed auctions but didn't find anything there. Could someone tell me what the 50 f1.4 ltm with proper hood is actually selling for these days?

Thanks!

I paid $275.00 for an excellent condition 50/1.4 a few years back. KEH is currently listing two Canon 50/1.4 lenses, a bargain lens for $225.00 an excellent one for $350.00

Cool. Thank you very much. I have one that isn't getting much use and was thinking of selling it. Surprised I didn't find them in eBay completed listing, although I might have been searching wrong.

I have sold mine recently here at RFF, with original Canon lens cap, metal hood. The lens had some signs of wear and some small cleaning marks. Asking price was US$ 190.

I've had the best luck with the following search:

"Canon + RF" when it comes to canon listing.

maddoc, I was thinking there might not be much demand for the LTM stuff these days. Great lens. Just don't use it as much as I used to. Mostly keep the 50 1.8 on my IIIF.

I like my 50/1.4 very much. It's a bargain even at $350 if clean. I've seen it favorably compared to the Summilux in various threads over the years and I've not been disappointed in the performance of my particular sample. I've always wished it was more compact, but you can't have everything:rolleyes:

Yes, it's fine with an adapter on my M3, but with the hood intrudes into the finder on the IIIF. I have a VCII meter on the IIIF so I can't use an external finder with it (don't much like external finders anyway). No complaints as far as image quality, though. I really want to get something compact for the IIIF, though. Don't really need the speed.

Got mine for about 250 euro, very very good condition (I dare say glass is really "mint"), no scratches at all, front and original hood. On ebay from an european merchant, but I was lucky....
I like the lens altogether, but don't really appreciate the bokeh, seems harsh sometimes. At same aperture the 50/0.95 is definitely better, though too heavy for carrying around.

I got that BGN one, and the glass is pretty much perfect. Also found the proper hood on eBay for 10 bucks.

The 50/1.4 is a great lens. Price is usually around US 250-350 or so, but for very clean copies with hood, adapter, etc., it can be more expensive.

Special optically, too, one of the very few fast 50s with 6 elements (instead of 7).

Still not sure if I prefer my Summilux v2 over the Canon or not. They are certainly competitive, also in terms of bokeh.

Roland.

Definitely competitive to the M2/3 with Summilux. And, look at the price difference. Canon P has preferable rewind and easier film loading.

I paid $325 from Jiri in Japan who seems to consistently have nice ones on eBay. The glass on mine was mint- and the cosmetics were excellent. I love the lens.

And I took the EX :p Glass is flawless, which was my main concern for lenses of this period. A bit of wear on the black paint, but still a great looking. Lovely piece of kit, and hard to find a better price, if you find one at all (Kevin's cameras has a bunch, but at a significant cost).
