I bought a used D-300 from Cameta. The live View would not work, no matter what i did nor how many times I read the directions in the D-300 book i bought. I called Cameta. They were nice, but didn't know the cause.
Then I took off the AF lens and put on a 50/1.4 AIS. Bingo. Live View worked like a charm. Put the 35mm AF-D back on. Nothing. So then I changed the aperture control from aperture ring to the front subdial (option f7). Now, it works. Hmm. Same deal with a 28-70 3.5-4.5 AF-D.
OK. I phoned the Nikon help line. Result: one baffled help person, no answers.
Any ideas? Has anyone else seen this?
