What films do you use?

I mostly use Txi-x 400 and Efke Ort-25 (orthochromatic).

T-Max 400 (135 & 120)
Acros (135 & 120)
APX 100 (135)

In 135 mostly APX, followed by the creamy TMX-2

The Foma is a tricky old-school film with quite a bit of contrast, but once tamed quite nice. use it for 4x5 because there is no APX there...

I loved Tri-x 320 in 120 for my hot light studio work, but it's gone. so I need to find an alternative: any ideas? (The spectral sensitivity was special)

Well, I actually don't use Tri-X all that much, I'm more an Hp5 kinda guy, although I do use Tri-X at 800/1600- i find it pushes better than Hp5.
But one of my favorites is not on the list: Fuji Neopan 1600.
I'll shoot whatever I have, but my most used would be:

Fp4

I shoot mostly HP5+, with PanF+ and FP4+. I've been using the Rollei 25 Ortho and ATP1.1 a bit lately, and have just ordered some of the Rollei 25 Pan. I've been running the 25 films in very dilute Rodinal and getting much better results than with anything else.

I shoot stuff that is not in the poll: For C41 color I shoot mostly Kodak HD4 and some Ektar; I just got a small brick of Agfa Vista 400 to see what it's like - expecting lots of grain and old-school lack of saturation - might be interesting. I shoot more B/W and develop it myself. A year ago I would have answered HP5+, Delta 400 and Efke 100 but prefer less expensive stock lately: Arista Legacy Pro 400 (Fuji Neopan?) and EDU Ultra 400 (Fomapan?); also shooting Lucky 100 in 120 format.

Only 12 options are available... I had to pick which ones to include. Maybe do one for each major brand:

Kodak Only
Fuji Only
Illford Only

Others Only (Efka, Foma, Kentmere, Rollie, And others)

Personally, I use Tri-X, TMax 400, TMax 100, Plus-X, and Pan F. I like HP5 but haven't bought it for a few years.

Mostly I shoot Tri-X. Been using it forever, and I know it inside and out. If I could get Tri-X Pan 320 in 35mm I'd shoot that a lot more, though.

On the list i've shot fp4 (4X5 only), hp5, t-max films. I usually shoot tri-x. I like neopan 400 as well, but when that runs out i'll stick with tri-x, as the price difference isn't what it used to be. I bought a few rolls of plus-x a few weeks ago. I haven't shot it and years and wanted to try a slower film for a change.
