Are the EVFs for the GF-1 and EP-2 about equal or is one brighter or sharper than the other? I know the G1 is good but I can't mount a 135/2.8 Elmarit-M on that body.
Bigger is better in this case. A lot bigger and a lot better if I read the comments. But the Panny finder will do the trick. I am very happy with mine.
while the Oly one is better, but the Pany is by all accounts not bad.I wouldn't let the evf be THE deciding factor if the GF-1 suited me better in other ways, on the other hand if the evf is the be all and end all for you, don't bother with either one of them, get a G-1 or wait for the G-2.

I agree. I've used them all and for my shooting the G1 with built in EVF and rotating LCD is still the best. I don't really like the clunky add on EVFs and fixed angle LCD on either the E-Px or GF1 cameras.

While the Panasonic EVF is not as nice as the Olympus EVF, it is very usable. I agree with scho on the G1. The moveable LCD and the great EVF make it a winner IMHO.
I was using the G1 and the Pen 1. A friend let me borrow his Pen 2. big mistake.....
I used it for an hour, sold the G1 immediately and now have both Pens....
The VF-2 on the Pen is light years ahead of the Panny's......
I use my 35 Lux or Hexanon 57 1.4.....in very low light and I don't even need the magnified view...
in fact, I never use the magnified view....
I liked the G1 but the finder cost it it's life.....
