Canon LTM I've just got a QL17 GIII

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Congratulations...a Canonet QL G-III was my first rangefinder. I have really enjoyed it; so much so, that I bought a second one and gave it to a friend who was interested in trying some film photography. I hope that you enjoy yours!

Happy Shooting

I've actually gotten to like mine quite a bit. The only thing that bugs me about it is that it will refuse to let you take an over or under exposed shot (by its own estimation, of course). I want to tell it : "look, Canonet, I can bring back an overexposed shot, but I can't bring back a shot you refused to take!"

I've never had it refuse to take an overexposed shot. I've had it refuse to take a very low light shot, and I've just quickly flipped it out of "A" to wide open.

Likewise, I figure if I'm ever in the situation where it refuses a very bright shot (such as an incidental daylight shot when loaded with iso 1600 - yes, I can use it in one of mine) I'll just quickly flip it out of "A" down to f/16.

Just override it by setting your own aperture and shutter speed. It's only locked it you keep it dialed in to A.
