Hi,

I am thinking about buying a changing bag to develop B/W film because i don't have a proper room at home.


Which one would you recommend?

What size should i consider for a standard 35mm two reels tank?

I use a Titan 27"x30" bag. Reasonably priced, and well made. Big enough to work around in too. You don't want to get one much smaller.
 
I just use an 8x10x5 inch deep plastic storage container (without the lid) inside of my changing bag. It keeps all of the bits organized and gives my hands a bit of "head room" to work.
 
Just get the biggest bag you can afford, always nice to have more room, you never know when you need it. Those tents are a bit too big for me, and you need a flat surface, the changing bag gives you a littlle bit more flexibility. Isn't there this Spanish company called AP that makes all kinds of darkroom equipment ?
 
I have both a large bag and a tent, both generic no names. I find I use the bag more than the tent. I am not sure why as they both work well. I have no problems loading a tank with either 5 35mm reels or 120 reels in either.

I find the trick to not getting hands sweaty and hot is simply to work deliberately and not rush things. It seems to go quicker and have no problems.

I use cotton gloves when loading roll film. I always throw them in the changing bag, and if I need them, they are there.

For sheet film, I need my fingertips more. Plus, you don't roll the film in your hand.

I'd like to buy a tent but i can't afford it now. I need to buy some basic lab equipment.

The one that Mike and Fixbone suggest is about 29€ shipping included (58cm x 61cm).

I have also seen a Paterson changing bag (70cm x 70 cm) for 36€ at a local store. I wish i could try both and compare!

I think i'll probably choose Paterson's because it's bigger. What do you think?

Would go to the local store for 3 reasons:

1) You support a local shop
2) bigger is always better for changing bag
3) if something is wrong with the bag you can always easily go back to the store in stead of an internet shop.
