hola there, I was looking around on eBay for some film and I took a look at these Ektar films by Kodak.
Anyone has any experience / opinions about this film? I will use it on my Mamiya 7.

Ektar is great stuff, probably one of the best color negative films I have ever used.
Photos taken with Ektar tend towards the warmer part of the spectrum, I would say, but not overly so. Great skin tones. Nice bold colors with very fine grain.
Films are always personal preference, but I really like Ektar. It's one of my favorites.

When the conditions are right (and don't ask me what makes the conditions right - I don't know), ektar is the best color negative film there is.
It's saturated yet accurate, holds decent skin tones, and has very very fine grain.

Superb film, just accurately expose it at box speed and you'll be fine. Brave if you Sunny 16 it like any slide film. For me it's everything that a slide film is good for, good deep punchy colours, but with extra latitude and its colours are not into Velvia territory, so photos maintain a sense of balance to my eyes (although Velvia works for some kinds of photography)

Shot on 35mm Ektar but you can see it has extra latitude (the sky) and the colours haven't been sent way off into Mickey Mouse land.

I think it's great at night city scenes, for very bright colours against black etc. For people, I'd prefer Portra though. Ektar is outstanding though, I think of it as like a slide film in terms of colour, but a bit more bulletproof.

I tried some Ektar some time ago and thought it looked a little cheesy.

All the color shots here are with Ektar 100, 120 in my Hasselblad from a week ago. Shot up three more rolls this weekend too.
This one was a balancing act to get the wedding couple properly exposed.
