umm, a superb modernistic design that sports and equally superb price tag?
I love how it looks, but it is just so damn expensive for a few wires!
I remember reading on Gordy's webpage that he fashioned together a finder very similar to the ikodot, though much rougher in construction. He had a few pictures, too.

Oh come on it's only 1/3 of the price of a leica III!
Anybody using one of these now?

so you have to train yourself how close or far to look through for the appropriate focal length. In other words, do the work which a VF is supposed to be doing, and pay a lot of money for a stupid ring of wire.
This puts that infamous wooden knob for audiophile systems into shame.

If it was priced at around $30 give or take I would try one (even at half price I would be tempted). At the price that is being asked for them currently I'll pass. The big worry for me would be durability - looks pretty fragile.

Hmmm...perhaps you can't see the advantages to such a device.
1. Photograph with both eyes open
2. Allows you to use many lenses with one viewfinder

looks like a great idea to me....$99 does not seem all the bad at all. I zone focus a lot for qucik, street photos and this would speed the process up even more.
Looks like it might get torn up if left attatched while in the bag..

At $9, I'll buy it, but not at $99, that's a whole lot of money for this kind of viewfinder aid...

I can understand that... but the man is a small operation and there is a decent level of precision involved to make sure everything lines up right... I would imagine that should cost something. R&D plus small run makes it cost more.

$99.00 ?? Not this kid. Perhaps $5.95 but I'd not sink $99.00 into something I could scratch together with a map pins and a large paper clip.

Let's see you make it then... I think people are only thinking of materials when they think about the price. That's silly. I'm not saying this is a great device or that the price isn't somewhat high, but I think people are assuming this is easy to make. I can't imagine it is.

Exactly. It's not so much the price that discourages me (though I agree it looks high) as the risk of damaging/losing the thing. Nice idea, I thought.

the biggest flaw with this wire thing is that you have keep the frame exactly in a predetermined distance with your eye otherwise its not accurate.
now who can do that, i mean know exactly how far their eye should be from a wire when the wire is inches from their eye... seriously.

Ok, got this in the mail a few days ago. I tried it and could see its benefit, but honestly, it wasn't for me (as I actually prefer a little bit of tunnel vision i.e. black borders). I am returning mine, but I can state that it is well made and relatively durable. It does not go out of whack easily and is certainly not bendable like paper clips.
