i found it!!!!

Too bad the brand name is so big, and so prevalent. Hope it works for you.

It says GOLLA in at least 3 places...

and the strap is shorter than i would like...really...there is no perfect bag...but this is what i had in my mind's eye when first thinking about this type of bag.

i will get the black permanent marker out while watching tv tonight.

i think it's gonna work well for my needs, the camera fits nicely and in a vertical position so easy in and out. it can hold 2 batteries and a few sd cards and business cards as well. it has a drawstring top which they call a snow cap...snows lots here;). i may find some web strap material and have a shoemaker add it to the existing strap as i prefer a really long strap.
and the logo makes it look 'trendy' or touristy so maybe not like a camera bag. and it is lightly padded so easier on the bumps.
what's not to like?

Been looking at those Golla bags for a while now. They seem quite good but a bit girly in any of the other colors they do all kinds of colors mind. I have one of their small (girly blue) compact pouches for my IXUS and my daughter has one of their small cell phone bags.

this reminds me of a bumper sticker campaign that made its way through Chicago (and perhaps elsewhere for all I know) in the late 60's or early 70's in support of some evangelical movement.

the original bumper sticker read: "I found it."

some counter group, probably in jest, started putting out bumper stickers that said: "I lost it."

this was followed, inevitably, a few weeks later by yet another wave of stickers that read: "I am it."

Joe, my conclusion is that the best path for you to follow is to start your own religion where the central figure of worship is an unattainable camera bag and you are its primary prophet. That is your calling in life.

The atheist in me is slowly moving to the conclusion that the best bag might be no bag at all (though my house is littered with bags).

A camera in hand is far better than one in a bag.

Hypocrite that I am, since I do lots of shooting while bicycling, I do seem to make the most use these days (almost daily; gosh, this is starting to sound like a religion) of a Crumpler slung across my chest and shoulder. One body, one lens. When I traveled to DC this past weekend, it was two bodies, three lenses and assorted other crap in a Billingham. Too much stuff.

Joe, enjoy your new find, until of course, you move on, as you are wont to do, to the next thing. I'll be waiting to find out that will be.

i think it's a great small bag...as far as ugly goes, well, i'm in it for the images not the fashion...and i'm man enough to have a girly bag...tho a small square black bag hardly seems girly to me...

it works for me.

thus ends this morning's service...

Hope you enjoy it Joe, I know how much you like bags. I've bought one or two bags myself after following your bag threads, including one from you. Not sure I'm keen on this new purchase though and for myself, I think the Domke F-5xb is small enough.

i must have gotten lost. it appears i am in the 'thinking out loud' forum.

Yes.
Traditionally for those who think quietly would type up the message then close the browser before hitting "Post". (That's what I did)
But I do admire those who think loudly.

Hi Joe
For some reason I can't upload the link or get hold of the Gola site any other way. So I don't know if the 'signage' is woven on or printed. From the price I guess its one of those woven affairs. I spent a 'happy' few hours taking off the Lowepro logo on my latest bag - good light, good lens, and sharp knife and tweezers. But then I'm mad and had nothing better to do over a number of dark evenings.

If pros like D-A Harvey don't find it, you think you have by now? ;)

Honestly, I found it, too, for my taste and some other stuff: Timbuk2 messenger small.
