Love those Michael, especially the colour and the character. You have captured Myanmar very well.
I went there in 2009 twice, and still have not completed my photo editing (will make a book project from it when done), but I have to say the colour film, and lenses you used, compliments Myanmar very well

Michael,
Always good to see your pictures - particularly on a cold, grey day in the UK!

How difficult was it for a Western face to walk around with cameras in a place like modern-day Myanmar?
Did you get any hassles from police or anyone in your time there? Was it difficult to get a visa?

I'm not sure about Michael's experiences, but I never had any troubles in my one day in Myanmar taking pictures. It was a great time. I'm going to Yangon hopefully next month. How difficult was it for a Western face to walk around with cameras in a place like modern-day Myanmar?

Thanks for the nice comments John and Renzu......I appreciate it
Hello Colin, I live in Bangkok and the Myanmar embassy here is known for being an "easy place" to get visas....most travelers come to Bangkok and then get their Burmese visas here...
If you stay on the "tourist route" you will not encounter many problems walking around with a camera.......that said, I have been to Myanmar 4 times already and this last time was the most difficult....... I ended up getting stopped, questioned and followed by the "secret police".....it was 100% my fault and I should of known better... I ended up going straight to the airport and getting on the next plane back to Bangkok....I had to cut my trip a couple of days short earlier than I had planned....
that said, if you stick to the usual spots and don't go into the "no-go zones" you will be fine.....

They are doing some intensive logging in the north
