Hello, a couple of weeks ago I finally managed to buy a Canon P. It's such a fine camera, fits so nicely in my hand and has such a soft release! But ..... there's always a but in a +50 year old camera, in my case it's the slow shutter speeds below 1/30, where the the shutter opens but doesn't close again (fortunately, the B setting works perfectly!). Does any one of my fellow Canon P owners know an solution to this problem? I'd appreciate some hints, many thanks

How about a CLA?

CLA. My own works perfect.

Thanks to all suggesting a CLA; unfortunately that's no so easy to have done in Switzerland and, if, will cost a fortune, anyway a lot more than the camera plus .....

I had this problem w/ my Canon P last year, and sent it to local shop for repair (not a full CLA). It works fine now. If you want to use the slow speeds on your camera, that's what you'll need to do. If repairs are too costly, look for another P in good working condition?

In the USA DAG works on Canon RFs.
Any Leica shop should be able to work on them. I'm sure that there's a Leica shop somewhere down under.
