scanning without negative holder

I will learn how to get better scans, but this is a good start for me.

This photo was taken at the Ft. Pickens nature trail on Pensacola Beach.

I don't see it in either of those. When you get a chance if you have a black and white with a lot of even sky see what that does.

Did you just lay the negative on the glass?

I'm just curious if these things are precise enough in focus or use depth of field to ensure focus. My negative holder places the negative a little distance away from the glass.

I just cleaned the glass with windex, waited, then placed the negative on the glass, and closed the lid. Thanks.

Here, I placed a piece of glass on top of the negative. The colors are weird,and the image is unclear.

I am happy about the XP2 scans. It is a good start.

Getting the transparency holder from betterscanning will help with sharpness.
