Call me crazy. But in the past year, I've noticed some price inflation going on in M-bodies ... or am I imagining things?

Thanks -- I see a lot of similar observations from RFF members. Perhaps most of it is subjective and not verifiable, but I think there is some truth to this price creep.
I think the emerging middle class in China is possibly having an effect, but I have no proof to back up that claim.

I just checked the prices at KEH.com for M-bodies, out of curiosity. Almost had a heart-attack! M6 bodies in BGN condition for $1429? Seriously??? BGN-rated M3's for around $900?
Wow.
Wow.

The best camera is one that still works!
I have seen some prices asked for non metered M bodies in our classifieds lately that have made me blink! There does seem to be an upward trend I agree.
When OM's start to climb I'll be convinced that film is on the way back!

Keith -- I like your attitude. A resurgence of film is not a bad thing.
Perhaps we'll see some new film bodies from other manufacturers in the future.
An idle conjecture: with the processing power of the newest digital cameras + 21st-century metering algorithms + current lens technology, you would think that manufacturers would be able to make a really amazing 35mm film camera these days.
One can only dream!

USD has depreciated significantly in the last couple of years... down 10-30% versus some currencies... it explains part of the appreciation but I think the M9 has attracted a lot of new photogs to RFs...

Oh, I thought they stopped a few years ago. That's news to me. Are people actually still buying these at MSRP?

I should have bought a noctilux when there were some on Ebay for like $4000-5000. now they're all $6500+ BOOOOOO! Same as the M6 when they used to be $1000-1200 second hand

I just looked at their page and the cost of a m6 ttl .85. Yikes. That's nearly double what I paid for an ex+ with presentation case

Not in the last 5 hours but over the last 35 years...?
My first M3 (SS, mint condition) in 1974 cost me all of $275. I bought a mint M2 from the same dealer 3 months later for the same price. Yes, they were mint!!!
They can't have been 'mint' ... we didn't have eBay back then!

Something is definitely happening in the world of film.
I tried to buy film yesterday from a store close to my house (not my usual) and they had run out.
This is in a suburban shopping center with a K Mart!
They told me they had ordered more but the order was over a week late.
Meanwhile... I was offered a lot of cash for my Hassy 903 SWC at a recent coffee and chat meeting.
He had heard through the club about my camera and really wanted it. He told me he can't find one in Australia in good condition. I politely said no.
All of which surprised me because not that long ago I knew of two in my city that were sitting on shelves collecting dust.

Woo hoo! The film resurgence has started! (I think)
Yes, prices have risen. I just bought a M3 for $695 from Tamarkin before I couldn't anymore. They used to be $500-600 just a few months ago (for good users). Now even ebay is high for users.

RFF and the few sites that are dealing in these cameras are hardly an indication of a mass film resurgence.
Until we see brand new film cameras coming out from the big companies and fuji / kodak making more new film then they kill off, I won't believe film use is anything but a niche game.
