Finally at home...
I don't know if this has already been played here, if yes, just link to the thread please, ok?
If the photo fairy came along and told you that you could get one "Leica à la carte" camera for free, what would it look like?
That would be mine, I guess:

I never did this before...but this is what I would want...

Hey, I love this kind of game
Here's mine:
Silve chrome M7, classic decorations, MP style levers, cognac leather, .85 viewfinder. Ahhh, now if only that wasn't just a dream ...

Black paint MP with chrome advance and M7 rewind.
I'm really tempted to start saving for this.

I can't tell you how many times I've played this "game" while a little bored and day dreaming about a bank account with a few extra zeros.
Black chrome, classic engraving, vulcanite, M7 style rewind, name engraved in red, 0.85x viewfinder, no 75mm frame lines.
And honestly, I wish they offered it with the M4-M7 style plastic tipped advance lever. Heresy, perhaps, but after using both kinds, I have to say I like the plastic tipped lever on my M6 and old M4.

Darkroom printing lives

This one.
But then I got to thinking, I am basically specifying my M4-P all over again, except for the advance lever and the 11x price tag.
So I am back to earth again

That's the same argument I always come back to. I would basically just get an M6 with vulcanite, higher magnification, less frame lines, and a more flare-resistant viewfinder. So, $1,000 for a used M6 or $6,000 for the MP? The M6 in my bag at the moment answers that question, but if I had the money, why wouldn't I get exactly what I wanted? The a la carte program is basically all about vanity anyway, not practicality.

Already did that but got this instead:
Now, I am dreaming about an M9. Guess I need to go figure this one out and post later.
Later is now...so, maybe the dream would be an MP like this...or maybe in black. If silver, I would include my signature:

I would get a MP, with only 35 and 75 frame lines (each actuated by the lens - no multiple frames) - 0.72 magnification , M2/M3 rewind knob - NO engravings whatsoever. At the prices Leica charges - they can do their own advertising. Black paint, M2 style advance.

just out of curiosity, is black chrome on MP different from M6? i really like Andy's (RITskellar) a la carte black chrome MP. it looks more matte than M6, no? thank you in advance!

Do they actually do that if you ask kindly? (And put enough cash on the table?)
