I thought I'll ask...
I've got as a present an ELDIA 17900 W contact printer from a friend. I would like to give it a go but... how to use the darn thing?
It looks pretty simple, but I was wondering if I have to use a slide film in it? What would happen if I do negative on a negative?
Apologies in advance for the newbie question...

You need slow positive film -- in effect, paper emulsion on film. I don't know if anyone makes it any more. Even if they do, ELDIA is a bar steward to use: more dust than you would think possible. I know: I tried, a long time ago. But the ELDIA is so pretty. I still have one, all but mint, and boxed: presumably, the previous owner(s) didn't use it any more than I did.

Cheers,

R.

Look for Kodak 2302 or 5302 film, and you will be making your own B&W slides in no time! It's still manufactured, so look around.
